Converting your funds

The market exchange rate as at 9am on 30th September 2008 is 1 GBP = 2.6703 NZD (indicative).

Please note these rates appearing on the top right hand side of the screen, should only be used as a guide. They are not available to private individuals.

We understand that exchanging your funds into another currency is one of the most difficult and important decisions you will face when making the move. Therefore, ASB offers a number of foreign exchange services, designed to help you make the most of your money. These include.

Sterling Short Term Call Accounts

Sums in excess of £30,000.00 can be lodged with us in London on an interest-bearing basis while you monitor exchange rates.When you are ready to convert your funds you can choose to convert the total amount or part of. An exchange rate can be agreed over the phone by contacting your Relationship Manager.

Multi Currency Term Deposits

An alternative option to customers who choose to hold in excess of £250,000.00, or, the equivalent of £250,000 in the following currencies EURO, USD, AUD and NZD at the London office. Terms range from 30 days to 180 days. Interest is credited upon maturity, and interest rate offered is negotiated upon receipt of funds.

Forward Exchange Contracts

A forward exchange rate allows you to lock into a rate today and settle at a date in the future (up to 6 months).

This may be of interest to you if your funds are not yet available (i.e.- house sale, investment) and you wish to take advantage of today’s exchange rate. By securing an exchange rate you are protected from movements in the foreign exchange market.

Rate Order Contracts

For amounts of £100,000.00 and above, you can select a target rate at which to convert your funds. The London office will monitor the market during our trading hours on your behalf, and if our trading rate reaches your target rate your funds will be converted.

e-Rate

To help you monitor exchange rates, you can receive a daily email containing opening indicative rates of exchange.
